The Niwican Currency Reform
The Niwican Currency Reform is a plan for a new system of currency for Niwic. We realized that if we just keep printing paper and calling it money, it won't be worth anything. The new system will have entirely different designs for the notes, and maybe the coins will even be made of something besides wood. The money made will no longer go to the Treasury, but will remain unissued, and will go to the Currency Exchange Office. Then those who want Niwican money will be able to trade U.S. money for it. Then the Niwican currency that is traded will be issued with a special rubber stamp. All the notes will have this printed on the back: "This certifies that there have been deposited in the Treasury of the Republic of Niwic ___ American dollars, Payable to the bearer on demand." The Niwican money will then have U.S. dollars backing it up, and will be worth something. I think this will be a great system for our nation, and a change for the good.
Starting Monday the 9th of August, the old Niwican currency will be redeemable for U.S. money. You will receive 2¢ per note, and 4¢ per coin. You can change them out in Ziphen, Benjaland or Inaduh, Vipers. This is optional, and if you want to keep your money, please do. The new system will begin as soon as new currency is manufactured by the Department of Note Printing and the Department of the Mint. If you have any comments on the new system, please leave a note on NiwicWeb, our online discussion forum. You can also read the whole proposition there.
I hope you will like the new system, and I hope it will be a benefit to our nation. Hopefully it will encourage more business and monetary transactions to be made in our nation.
Your President,
